Happy Tails

2002 Adoptions

Cassie, a attractive b/m red was found tied to the gate at the Thompson, CT shelter one cold December morning along with her companion Nathan (see below).  After a prolonged period of fostering and rehab with Robin Conway of Vermont, Cassie was adopted by Christopher & Nancy Sciotti in New York.

Jody is a petite 5 year old dark blue brindle with "love me" eyes. Jody's story is similar to Digger's below. After being turned over to rescue because of illness in the family, Jody was placed with a family in NYC.  Unfortunately, she also experienced separation anxiety and her howling did not make for good relations with the neighbors in her apartment building.  Providentially, the very week we were planning Jody's return, we got a call from the Monnette's of CT who were looking for a 5 year old female.  They had recently lost  their female, Callie, and their male, Jake, was mourning.  Jody paid a visit, Jake was instantly smitten and Jody moved in right on the spot.

Digger  and his roommate , Molly, were turned in by their owner for the usual reasons (too busy, no time, divorce, etc, etc, etc).  After being fostered by Robin Conway, Digger, who initially had some separation anxiety, was placed in a home in Maine.  Unfortunately, his separation anxiety worsened and he was returned to rescue and Robin's care.  Now Digger has made his move again - this time to Monroe Freeman of NY, a retired gentleman who can devote his time to what's important - Digger, of course!

Ginger, another elderly dog, came to us when her life long owner felt that he could no longer give her the care and attention she needed.  It was a very sad parting with everyone in tears, but this lovely red girl made the move to Vermont where she'll spend the rest of her days with Robin Conway and a houseful of canine companions.

Moose found himself facing euthanasia and in dire need of help after the sudden death of his owner.  Fortunately, his late owner's employer was involved in rescue herself and called us seeking a home for this l sweet 12 year old blue gentleman.  Tranni and Austin Sedicum, of Connecticut, Afghan angels extrordinaire, came riding up on their white horses and took Moose into their home and hearts.

Nathan (now Tango), an attractive b/m red was found tied to the gate at the Thompson, CT shelter one cold December morning.  He was wearing a collar with a piece of chain attached to it that was so entangled in his fur it had to be cut out.  Nathan was thin as a rail and had whip worm as well.  In spite of all that, he is a friendly, loving fellow.  After a period of fostering and rehab with Robin Conway in Vermont, Nathan was adopted by Jean Orr and Barb Hays of Massachusetts.

Jasper, our first 2002 placement, was found stray in front of the New Haven, CT animal shelter.  The shelter staff recognized that he was an Afghan Hound and called us.  After a brief sojourn with a family in Massachusetts, he returned to Connecticut for fostering until his placement with the Bohrers of New Jersey.  Jasper has a family to love, a new pal, Shagomar, to play with and two fenced acres to run in.  What more could a fellow ask for?
